Princes Street
Running parallel to Merseyway is Princes Street, one of the busiest shopping streets in the town centre. Much of the street is pedestrianised, making the area a pleasant place to mooch around. It is bursting with shops selling just about anything from jewellery to health foods and beds to home entertainment systems.

Warren Street
Here you can pick up books, visit popular high street names, grab a bite to eat, book a holiday and even do your food shopping.

Stockport Market
The historic Market Place has almost 200 stalls selling anything from fresh fish to rolls of fabric. Stalls are housed in a Victorian Market hall, a speciality Produce Hall and in one of the only remaining traditional street markets in the North West.

The stunning Market Hall is lively shopping environment and home to a vast number of traders selling goods ranging from needlecraft to tools and health foods to lingerie.

The beautifully restored Produce Hall has a well-established reputation for offering fine local produce - including quality meats, fish and traditional pies. Visitors mustn't go home without sampling the vast selection of cheeses and freshly baked breads

No visit to Stockport would be complete without experiencing the hustle and bustle of Market Day. You are always guaranteed to find something unusual on your way to spotting a bargain. The Street Market comes alive as colourful stalls wind their way around the streets surrounding the market hall. Visitors can haggle over the variety of goods including flowers, fresh fruit and veg, clothing & footwear, toiletries and leather goods. On Tuesdays, the Market is home to Stockport's popular flea market.

Opening hours:
Street Market and covered Market Hall - Tuesday, Friday and Saturday 9.00am - 4.30pm
Produce Hall - Tuesday to Saturday 9.00am - 5.00pm

Underbanks & Hillgate
Below the Market Place, run the Underbanks - Stockport's alternative quarter made up of a maze of twisting side streets, many of which still bear their original medieval names. Here the streets are characterised by quaint shop fronts and specialist shops selling quirky and gifts, from funky hand made jewellery to musical instruments.

The area is well known for its pavement cafes, popular restaurants, street entertainment and a wealth of traditional Robinson's pubs.

Peel Centre
To the east of the town centre lies the Peel Centre, a large, busy retail park which is home to every kind of superstore you could possible imagine - electrical, furniture, clothing, books and toys.

The centre provides the ideal opportunity for a spot of window shopping and for checking out the latest special offers before making that bog purchase. It also offers up-to-the door parking facilities.

The Courts
Stockport 's former Magistrate's Court has found a new lease of life as the town centre's newest retail complex. The Courts offers shoppers big brand names such as TK Maxx, Caffe Nero, MK One and Music Zone.

The complex extends over 3 levels and connects Warren Street to the Market Place via a lift and escalator. It is an exciting new addition to the town centre and a must-stop destination when visiting Stockport.
