Enjoy a glimpse into medieval life. The day promises armoured knights, storytelling, musicians and dancers. Don’t miss the ferocious 14ft smoke-breathing dragon. The fearless can try their hand at archery or train with a sword and axe. The day will end with a spectacular fire finale.

As the evening draws to a close, the Medieval Parade will begin; culminating in an amazing dance of fire choreographed to music that will illuminate the Market Place. The jets of flames will delight and amaze, as they leap and twist creating an unmissable finale from approximately 6 pm.

All the way from bonny Scotland, The Black Guide, the Public Executioner will talk about punishment of thieves, perks of the job with his show and tell recreated tools of the trade. If your stomach can take the accounts of stories from bygone times. Finish your time travel tour with a visit into Stockport actual dungeons, opened kindly by Stockport Heritage Trust for the last time this year.

Finale Celebrations

Arrive early and take your stand to watch our spectacular Fire and Light Finale. It is the eve of St Crispin's Day, the Battle of Agincourt that occurred on 25 October 1415.
The Prologue from Act 1 of Henry V will be read by Chief Knight Phil Pembridge from the National Plantagenet Society.
This will be followed by the St Wilfrids Medieval Parade that will loop around the Covered Market Hall culminating into a breath taking Fire Juggling Show.
A beautiful arrangement of medieval ballards will be sung before the senses will be set alight and delight in capture of Stockport Market 750 light and dancing fire show closing these proceedings.
Event ends approx 6.20pm - 6.30pm
Catering and Toilet provision will be located on St Petersgate for the full event duration on the Sunday.
